DARK NIGHTS

Presented in conjunction with Leviathan Lab's successful mounting of its inaugural production of TWELFTH NIGHT last fall, The Dark Nights was a series of staged readings written by established and emerging women playwrights, including members of the Leviathan Lab Asian American Women Writers Workshop. The Dark Nights included an evening of 10 minute plays by various playwrights, including Kitty Chen, Siho Ellsmore, Christine Toy Johnson, Dorim Lee, Marisa Marquez, May Nazareno, Nandita Shenoy, and Susan Soon He Stanton.

Leviathan Lab Asian American Women Writers Workshop
The Leviathan Lab Asian American Women Writers Workshop (LLAAWWW) is the country's first and only group dedicated to the creation and development of Asian American women's voices in dramatic performance.

Our membership includes professional actors who are writing plays and screenplays for the first time, as well as experienced playwrights whose work has been produced at theatres such as Diverse City Theater Company, the NYC International Fringe Festival, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Primary Stages, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. The insights we share come from this wealth of collective experience and knowledge. Everything we offer to one another is in the effort to support and create engaging dramatic work.

We welcome writers in all stages of their development, from those who have never written a play to emerging and mid-career writers. LLAAWWW believes in the extensive and rigorous process of development through re-writing. We are dedicated to the development of new work as well as the growth of each writer.
