FILM ACTING WITH KAIPO SCHWAB
We are continuing to help our members improve themselves and expand their skill set by again offering film acting classes with Kaipo Schwab.

We will be offering two sections:

Intro to Film Acting
Sundays 1pm - 5pm
Jan 29, Feb 5 & 12
Cost: $75
Maximum Class size: 14

For those actors looking to transition from a theater process to a film process, Kaipo will introduce you to the basic fundamentals of techniques for acting on film with an emphasis on silent moments, working with a camera, lighting and sound basics, auditioning for film work, being comfortable on set and in front of the camera, improvisation, and working with text.

Mondays 6pm - 10pm
Jan 30, Feb 6 & 13
Cost: $75
Maximum Class size: 14

This class will expand on the concepts from Intro to Film Acting and continue the actor's journey in exploring working in the medium of film. This class is available to students from the Fall 2011 Intro to Film Acting class and actors who have previously worked with Kaipo in his "Dojo."

About Kaipo Schwab
Mr. Schwab is an actor, director and producer who has worked at The Roundabout, Manhattan Theatre Club, The Public Theatre, Second Stage, Playwrights Horizons, Hartford Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse, GeVa Theater, Pan Asian Rep and New York Theatre Workshop where he is a Usual Suspect (their official company of artists). In 2004 he directed part of ABC Television's Cultural Diversity Showcase.

His film and television credits include Fair Game, The Royal Tenenbaums, It Could Happen To You, All My Children, The Protector, Law & Order, New York Undercover, Can Openers, Rescue Me, and Cosby.

He founded the Imua! Theatre and Film Company in 1994, where he produced and/or directed over 20 plays including THE GREEKS, BALM IN GILEAD, and JULIUS CAESAR. He also directed and edited the internet web series, HELP WANTED, in 2008 and he was nominated for best direction and editing for WHITE RABBIT, a short film submitted to the Asian American Film Lab's 72-Hour Shootout.

Mr. Schwab also teaches film acting technique and is a professional cinematographer and film editor. He is also the owner of 15 Minutesof Frame, a commercial video and film production company.

He was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, attended The British American Drama Academy and is a graduate of Boston University College of Fine Arts (BFA).

Kaipo and his wife, Hope, live in New York City with their son, Giovanni, and their pug, Molly.
